Speaking of Jo Malone, on Monday Jo Malone threw a gorgeous party in their New York store to celebrate the publication of The Beach House. New friends and old came from near and far, and it was wonderful to meet so many fans, and so many wonderful people.
I wish I'd felt better on the journey in to New York - I've suddenly developed horrible car sickness, which doesn't exactly bode well when you're about to embark on a tour which involves sitting in the back of cars and driving three to four hours to reach an event. Aaargh! If anyone has any foolproof travel sickness remedies, pass them my way! The only thing I know is Dramamine, but it knocks me for six, and I can't stand in front of rooms full of people to give talks when I look and feel like a zombie...

Don't be anxious! I think many of us pre-ordered the book even before it came out! Everything will be fine. I spoke with my husband, who is a Pharmacist, regarding your car sickness and he said you can try Bonine. Also, there are motion sickness bracelets that work very well but are very hard to find.

Try peppermint candies. It is an old wives tale, but it really works on upset stomachs. I use with queasy stomachs, whether from riding in the car or the heat.

Try ginger... I get motion sickness as well and my uncle, who does a lot of boating, says it works wonders!

I've been living with car sickness my whole life and there's a medicine that works for me- Bonine. One pill is good for 24 hours and it seriously made my life so much easier, before I used to dread going on the plane or in a car!

Dear Jane, conngratulations on the book's triumphant release! #Sorry I missed the Jo Malone event, but glad it was such a success. I'm not sure if this works for humans but I have found that feeding yogurt to puppies who are prone to carsickness really works! xxoo

Saw you tonight at Border's (I was the one also buying "Fancy Nancy") and I had a great time. I hope the rest of your book tour goes well. If you don't have to deal with our section of the Post Road I am sure it will be a lot smoother! Can't wait to get started with The Beach House on my holiday.

I've had them forever...my mom bought them for me when I was younger for airplanes!! They are also made for car sickness

Jane: I, too, pre-ordered the book, and waited on pins and needles to receive it. I'm at home sick and your book is what is keeping me entertained and providing me with comfort, like only a great book can do! I foresee your book topping charts in the US just like it is doing in the UK!
I suffer from car sickness as well, although never air sickness which I find quite strange. I use sea bands to keep my car queasies at bay, and also love to munch on Newman's ginger mints. They're a God Send! Try some!
