Once, while I was out with some girlfriends at a bar, I reached into my purse and pulled out a diaper in a ziploc bag that I'd forgotten to toss in the trash can. Nice, huh? My friends didn't have kids at that point, so they all had things like $40 lip glosses in their slim little purses, while I lugged around a clunker with sippy cups, board books, etc. etc. I used to blame my aching arm and shoulder on carrying around my kids but now I think it's the fault of my purse (which, actually, I can blame on the kids too....)

Wow! No wonder our backs hurt. We all carry too much stuff, as if we were about to be stranded on a dessert island for months. I am just as guilty as everyone else.
